IT and Digitalization Director

Region Gävleborg's IT management is responsible for the development, operation, management, and support of all IT services within all of Region Gävleborg's activities. The assignment is complex as IT supports and enables a comprehensive and multifaceted operation within healthcare, public transport, culture, regional development, and more. Approximately 155 employees are distributed across four departments in the IT management.

Region Gävleborg has a holistic view of IT development and digitalization that permeates our strategy, ways of collaboration, and our focus on the user. RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with your colleagues, you will continue the positive development journey that has begun in Region Gävleborg's IT operations. You will work based on our long-term strategy, maintaining momentum in ongoing development projects while ensuring high quality and accessibility. The processes, governance, systems, and capabilities of the IT management should support strategic decisions and objectives for all of Region Gävleborg and form the basis for results-oriented and measurable work.

As the IT and Digitalization Director, you will:

• lead the region's overall work with IT and digitalization
• be responsible for employees and finances, as well as a follow-up responsibility for the operations based on our political goals implemented in strategy and operational plans
• ensure that Region Gävleborg operates based on a supportive IT architecture and has frameworks and guidelines for cybersecurity, cloud solutions, AI, data governance, etc.
• stay updated on new technologies and trends to work proactively and forward-looking with modern and relevant systems, both internally and externally
• represent the IT operations in external networks and collaborate regionally and nationally on common issues
• be part of the executive management and report directly to the regional director.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have the ability to view issues from a holistic perspective and need to be able to translate political goals into both strategic and operational plans for the operations. The assignment requires a high level of personal commitment, self-motivation to lead the operations towards set goals, an advanced ability to create and maintain good relationships, and a strong communicative ability.

As a person, you are structured and analytical and have documented good leadership qualities. We are looking for someone who has:

• experience in strategic development work supported by digitalization
• experience in senior management roles at the executive level or equivalent, preferably with a focus on IT and digitalization
• very good written and verbal skills in Swedish, good skills in English.

An academic degree, preferably with a focus on IT, is meritorious, as well as experience in procurement, work within the public sector, and familiarity with operating in a politically governed organization.
